Tuscan cuisines really capture the traditional taste; very simple dishes supported with fresh ingredients make rich-flavoured dishes. We recommend that you sample in osterias (traditional taverns), trattorias (family-run places) or ristorantes, but be careful of the often pricey mediocre places found in and around the city centre.
