Visit Barcelona
As the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona has long been dubbed “La Gran Encisera” - the Great Enchantress. With the bustle of the world’s busiest seaport, the medieval romance of its Gothic Quarter, and a feast of Catalan Art Nouveau buildings, including the great creations of Antonio Gaudí, Barcelona remains one of the most stunning cities in Europe.
Enjoy strolling along the elegant boulevards, stopping at the cafés and tapas, soaking up the atmosphere, or viewing the impressive Gaudi architecture.
Start your tour from Plaça Catalunya and take Las Ramblas towards the sea. On the right, you’ll find Raval district with its museums, art galleries and notorious red-light area, Barri Xines. On your left, the medieval Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter) is home to the cathedral, peaceful Plaça del Pi, art galleries and many cafes. The famous Nou Camp is also nearby for those of you who may wish to see the home of European Champions Barelona.
Local Cuisine One of the nicest restaurants in the city is across the road from probably the most busiest; unbeknown to the huge queue that tends to form there, La Crema Canela (located just off Placa Reial) is a wonderful restaurant opposite.
Barcelona serves up some wonderful cuisines, and whilst the local dishes must be tried, the international flavours available create a great atmosphere and experience within this lovely city.
